Addie the Chatterbox!

Sometime between month 22 and 23, Addie turned into a little chatterbox!  It is amazing how many new words she has learned the past month and how she is able to express her thoughts so much more clearly.  She can pretty much tell us exactly what she wants to do, what she wants to eat, and what is going on around her. At the end of each day, we ask her what she did that day and it's incredible what she can remember and tell us about.
This past week there was a couple of days of bad storms, so we were talking about thunder and lightening. The following night some really loud thunder woke Addie up. She started crying, so I went in and asked what was wrong. She said, "Thunder loud. Addie scared. Sleep by you." She knew exactly how to say what she wanted to say.

She is also starting to be quite the problem solver. The other night we were reading books in her room. Jay came in and saw a scrap of paper on the floor and asked me what it was.  It was just a piece of a book spine that had gotten ripped off one of Addie's books. I said, "It's nothing, you can throw it away."  Addie immediately replied, "No! Book. Tape it." She did not want to throw it away; she wanted us to tape it back together.

Addie loves her books. Her attention span has increased a lot the past few months, and she will sit for about ten books before bed each night. Some days when she just can't fall asleep for a nap, she and Ashly will lay in bed and read for an hour. Addie can tell us the title of probably 50 or more of her books. She has a great memory for that sort of thing.

She still loves the park, and also started a new class at Kids Activity Center. It is an activity class based loosely on gymnastics with some music elements as well. She absolutely loves the class, especially walking on the beam, hanging on the bar, and swinging on the rings. Maybe she will end up being a gymnast like her Aunt Jennie!
