Back in March, Addie and I took a trip to Houston to visit our friends Teresa and Ellie. We have missed them so much since they moved to Texas in January. Addie and Ellie always say they are "best friends," and they had played together almost weekly for well over a year! So, we decided to pay them a visit so that the girls could continue to maintain their friendship.
We had a lot of fun going to the Houston zoo, out for authentic Tex-Mex and Texas BBQ, and also went to the Houston rodeo. The girls had a ton of fun at the zoo and rodeo, but they also enjoyed just playing together at the house. I had fun catching up with Teresa and having a few days away from home.
At the rodeo, the girls loved seeing the baby animals, especially watching the chicks hatch, riding on a real pony, and also liked going on some of the carnival rides. They LOVED the "farm experience" which was a really cool exhibit where the girls got to grow vegetables, sit in a tractor, play in a cornbox (sandbox with corn), milk a pretend cow, and then sell their wares at the market in exchange for money, which they were able to use at the general store to buy a treat. They went through the entire exhibit twice and loved it both times! Just goes to show they really like the simple things and learning about how farms and growing food really works.
Thanks to Teresa the girls were dressed as cute as could be in matching skirts and rodeo shirts :)
